Zincobre developed the first octagonal tower with interchangeable demister in 2002. The first octagonal towers were installed in 2003 at the Lane Xang Minerals, Ltd. copper plant in Sepon, Laos.

This gave rise to the ZACT© technology (Zincobre Atmospheric Cooling Tower) which is applied worldwide for the cooling of all kinds of acidic and basic solutions and with high content of solids

The design of Zincobre Atmospheric Cooling Towers (ZACT©) meets the optimum requests of the operators of Chemical and Metallurgical Smelters to maintain on a nearly permanent basis the cooling efficiency of the ZACT´s.
